The Symbiosis series, which I completed over the course of one-and-a-half years (December 2020 - March 2022), represents an exploration sacred geometry and abstract iconography. It aims to visualise the sublime, taking the viewer into a contemplative mental space inspired by the neuroanatomical sketches of Santiago Ramón y Cajal and the tradition of Byzantine icon-painting. The golden details of the fractals which sprawl across these paintings represent a light in the darkness, and the ever-beating pulse of life: a testament to emergent order in a chaotic universe.
